Best of Swiss Gastro 2017: The winner is „Toi et Moi.“ Congratulations!

The popular „Best of Swiss Gastro“ audience award was presented again this year. „Toi et Moi“ in Bern received the top rating among 50,000 reviews, making it the only establishment to be named „Master of 2017.“ Since we are proud to count „Toi et Moi“—part of Remimag Gastronomie AG—among our customers, and because Bianchi is a sponsor of „Best of Swiss Gastro,“ we wanted to pay them a visit and introduce you to this creative and exquisite restaurant.

Located directly on Bahnhofsplatz, yet by no means a typical „station restaurant,“ „Toi et Moi“ impresses from the moment you enter. The spacious interior is colorful and playful, featuring countless charming details. For example, train travelers can note their connection on a table card, which is then noted in the kitchen and taken into account. It is these „little things“—which ultimately aren’t little at all—that define „Toi et Moi.“ Every corner of the restaurant is a universe of its own, radiating personality and dedication.

The food menu is just as varied as the interior. Various classics are served, but they are by no means presented in a boring way: fresh and (here too) with attention to detail, but without any unnecessary frills. The presentation of the dishes is not far-fetched; instead, everything is very much on point with creative elements. The popular cordon bleu, for example, is served on the bone, the pasta is refined with aromatic sun-dried tomatoes, and the fish is served with a spicy yellow chickpea purée.

Light yet delicious—„Toi et Moi“ impresses across the board. With the Jumi meat and cheese platter served as an appetizer, the only thing we missed was a description of the different types of meat and cheese. The starters were small and tasty, leaving enough appetite for the main courses. Each dish is served on a different plate: the kaleidoscope of shape and color continues the playfulness of the overall concept.

The team also impresses with a friendly and courteous manner that does not feel forced. Despite the lunchtime rush, Managing Director Luca Atroce takes the time for a chat and asks how the meal was. When asked what he likes most about his workplace, he replies: „It’s simply beautiful here!“ They are also proud of the „Best of Swiss Gastro“ audience award in the Classic category; the award is visible throughout the restaurant, and after our visit to „Toi et Moi,“ we agree: it is well-deserved. And we are even a little bit proud ourselves.
