That is how we discovered the company Suur and its unique kimchi—an exciting new addition to our range. This product combines traditional Korean fermentation craftsmanship with Swiss ingredients, offering a truly distinctive taste experience.

An innovative interpretation of the Korean classic. Suur reimagines the classic kimchi recipe by using local Swiss savoy cabbage (savoy cabbage) as the base instead of Chinese cabbage. The result is a kimchi that is slightly milder in heat and fresher on the finish than its Korean counterpart. Made from 100% organic ingredients and processed by hand, this unpasteurised product retains all its valuable vitamins and probiotics.

Kimchi with Swiss savoy cabbage. Slightly milder in heat, fresher on the finish, and instead of Chinese cabbage, regionally grown Swiss savoy cabbage is fermented.
The Swiss savoy cabbage is grown on the organic farm of Suur founder Lorenz.

Sustainability and regionality in focus.
Suur places great emphasis on sustainability and regionality. The vegetables used for the kimchi come from organic farms in the region. Production is done by hand in Zurich Schwamendingen, ensuring short transport routes and a close connection to the local economy.
