Swiss Wagyu by Bianchi

Raised with true dedication—amid gentle hills and generous pastures in the heart of Switzerland.

Natural. Exclusive. Swiss. Since 2012, a true rarity has been created in the Götzental Valley in the Canton of Lucerne: 100% purebred Wagyu cattle, raised with a special focus on sustainability, animal welfare, and quality. Even today, renowned steakhouses and restaurants across Switzerland rely on Swiss Wagyu by Bianchi—convinced by its origin, care, and flavour.

Where origin and husbandry become a philosophy. The Wagyu cattle are raised on Peter Hunkeler’s farm in the idyllic Götzental Valley. In spring and summer, they graze on lush pastures; in the cooler months, they enjoy the comfort of a spacious free-stall barn.
A special highlight: an integrated “wellness area” with scratching brushes that encourages natural behaviour, stimulates circulation, and thus enhances the animals’ health and well-being.

Responsibility in our own hands. Industrially processed concentrated feed or imports? Not on Peter Hunkeler’s farm. The cattle are fed exclusively with feed produced on the farm: premier brewing barley, maize kernels and pellets, and protein-rich dried grass provide a balanced, natural diet. A combination reflected in the distinctive flavour of Swiss Wagyu.
Breeding therefore follows the principle of self-sufficiency and naturalness—entirely in keeping with Swiss agriculture.

Sustainability with conviction. Thanks to short transport routes, regional feed, and resource-efficient husbandry, a product is created that not only delights in terms of flavour, but also makes ecological sense.
At Bianchi, we also place great value on holistic utilisation—out of responsibility towards animals, people, and the environment.

Trust begins on site. At Bianchi, we wanted to know for sure—the visit to the farm. Alessandro Battaglia (CEO) and Massimo Trazza (Head of Meat Purchasing) personally visited Peter Hunkeler’s farm. The aim was to gain their own impression of animal welfare, breeding philosophy, and the day-to-day work on site.
The verdict? Genuine dedication, deep understanding of the animal, and uncompromising quality.
