Ecological

In addition to the meticulous recycling of consumable raw materials such as cardboard and Styrofoam, we recycle over 900 tonnes of fish waste annually. This alone covers 50% of our annual electricity consumption. A further 10% is supplied by our photovoltaic system. By switching to CO2 cooling systems, we were able to save a total of 3,900 tonnes of CO2 in 2023.

Bianchi’s contribution to energy efficiency

Technology: Cold recovery in production and deep-freeze rooms, water recovery & continuous cooperation for improvements with the Energy Department of the Canton of Aargau

Vehicles/Logistics: Fleet replacement every 4 years on average to ensure the latest and most efficient technology for vehicles and cooling units

Waste recovery: Waste is managed separately as a raw material. We have a unique system in Europe for organic residues

Reusable containers: Zero waste through the use of plastic crates that are always returned, cleaned, and put back into circulation.

Social

The high number of long-serving employees is a testament to our family-oriented, social, and thus sustainable HR policy. We provide state-of-the-art and safe workplaces, pay market-competitive wages, offer opportunities for advancement, maintain flat hierarchies, and enjoy a great sense of cohesion.

Early morning on Lake Zug: Luca Bianchi (first from the left) and the Zimmermann family of professional fishers have already been working together for three generations.

Economic

Selected producers, short distances, highest quality. We maintain long-standing personal relationships with our suppliers and know the origin of our products. We have our commitment to resource protection as well as high quality and safety standards verified by numerous external certifications and audits, which guide our operations.

Quality Management

Corporate, Quality, and Safety Policy

G. Bianchi AG is a fifth-generation family-run company and is one of the leading Swiss distributors and producers of fish, crustaceans, poultry, meat, game, and delicacies. With our locations in Zufikon and St. Prex, we supply customers from the gastronomy, hotel, healthcare, and catering sectors, as well as retail and online trade throughout Switzerland.

Our actions are based on the goal of ensuring the highest quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction. To this end, we rely on preventive quality and food safety management, modern technologies, comprehensive hygiene concepts, and an uninterrupted cold chain. Compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements is a matter of course for us. Our standards are confirmed by recognized certifications such as FSSC 22000, MSC, ASC, CH-Bio, and Suisse Garantie.

Long-term partnerships with suppliers, the promotion of regionality and seasonality, and reliable logistics enable us to respond flexibly to our customers‘ needs.

Occupational health and safety are just as important to us as quality and economic efficiency. We create safe workplaces, promote health-conscious behavior, and share responsibility for preventing accidents and health risks.

Our success is based on cooperation, personal responsibility, and an open communication culture. We ensure effective internal and external communication, promote the skills of our employees through targeted education and training, and view change as an opportunity for further development.

The management is committed to the continuous improvement of the quality and food safety management system. To this end, goals are set, regularly reviewed, and adjusted if necessary. In this way, we create long-term added value for customers, employees, partners, and the environment.

Regional Product

Pure Swiss Delight!
Regional products are not popular for nothing. Verifiable producers, short distances, and the growing desire to support smaller local businesses are just three of the many reasons to offer regional products. Swiss fish in particular enjoy an ever-increasing reputation among customers and consumers. Our cooperation with local breeders is based on respect and trust and has usually grown over years. In the case of poultry, it is primarily our Alpstein products that are causing a stir, while for red and white meat, we work with around seven proven and carefully selected breeders in their region. Our „Produit régional“ label guarantees that only the best from Switzerland ends up on the customers‘ plates.
